Mobile App
Given that the app is named Rapcity, the design draws inspiration from the vibrant energy of urban nightlife. The color palette incorporates elements such as neon signs, glowing lights, and a dark background to evoke the atmosphere of a city at night. This choice not only reflects the dynamic and creative spirit of rap culture but also creates a visually striking and immersive experience for users. The glowing accents contrast against the dark tones, making key features stand out while maintaining a sleek and modern aesthetic that aligns with the app's identity.
What I gained from this project
While working on Rapcity, I encountered several valuable challenges and learning opportunities. Testing with developers for the first time revealed an issue with sync delays varying across different phone models. This made it impossible to set a universal value, leading to the implementation of a sync adjustment feature within the recording functionality. Additionally, the app's design initially did not adhere to WCAG guidelines, resulting in a background that was too dark and color choices that were not practical for real-world implementation. From a UI perspective, the icons and lines were often too thin, making them difficult to recognize and interact with. These experiences underscored the importance of accessibility, consistency, and clarity in design, shaping my approach to future projects.
